Established in 1988, CIECH Vitrosilicon was created on the basis of Żagańskie Huty Szkła, which was the third largest packaging glass factory in Poland, operating continuously since the mid-twentieth century.
Currently, as a company of the CIECH Group, it has two production plants, in Iłowa and Żary.
It specialises in the production of high-quality sodium and potassium silicates, both in solid and liquid form, continuously developing their sales both on the domestic and global markets. It is the largest European supplier of silicates, with exports to, among others, North America and Asia.
In 2021, a new furnace for the production of silicates was commissioned, worth PLN 80 million, as a result of which the company's production capacity increased by 30%.
